For God so loved the world,
that he gave His only Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
As I was reading, just the mention of John 3:16 brought such loving peace into my mind. The depth of His love for each of us is beyond calculation. If just the mention of this passage can bring instant covering and hope... how much more can God's word nourish us on a daily basis?
At first glance, these words provides a healing... a calling unto Him. A calling that He will fulfill His promise for us and in us. That He truly does know our name (Psalm 147:4) and He will continue working out His plan for our lives every minute of every day.
He healeth the broken in heart,
and bindeth up their wounds.
He telleth the number of the stars;
He calleth them all by their names.
Great is our Lord, and of great power;
His understanding is infinite.
Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving...
Psalm 147:3-5; 7
Beyond the salvation message, I see the joy in His understanding about my failings... successes... sorrows... doubts... hopes... and dreams. This morning I sing:
This is the day,
This is the day that the Lord has made,
That the Lord has made.
I will rejoice,
I will rejoice and be glad in it,
and be glad in it!
