Within the Garden of my Heart

Following Jesus

Knowing Jesus Christ as your Savior
This is the most incredible moment of your life.
Our "free will" was a gift from El Shadi our God.
It was given to each of us at the beginning of time.
Abba (God... our Father in Heaven) knew us... He designed us... He gifted us with a desire (a longing) to return to Him and all He has to give.
Abba is loving, He is kind, He is always diligent in His watch over us.
Abba gave us a manual in which we can live a life fulfilled.

A prayer of Salvation is from your heart. You are sensing a "tugging" deep within. There is a desire that nothing and no one can fill. You might be at the "end" of your rope. Maybe you are in such fear that you don't feel safe. You could be suffering to the point of despair. Maybe you have just read, seen, or heard someone teaching or praising our Lord. How ever your search brought you to the decision to be saved, know...

A Salvation prayer can be as simple as asking: "Jesus, I need you. I'm not sure how to do this, but you do. Forgive me, I know that I am a sinner. Save me, I give you my life. Show me the way."

Once you have asked Jesus Christ to be the Lord of your life, you are a new creation in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17): "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."

Now you walk by faith, that means that you trust in Jesus as your Savior
  • You learn what God has said about you, for you and your life by reading the Bible daily (begin with 10 minutes, start with the book of Psalms in the old testament)
  • You ask someone you know (someone you know is a believer) to help you and pray for you
  • Begin looking for a church that is "grounded" in the word of God (scripture is read, taught, and discussed)... the Holy Spirit will let you know which church is the right one... you will know a peaceful acceptance once church begins
  • If you have not been baptized... ask those around you, those at church, check out what baptism means and why you should make this commitment (Matthew 28:19, 20)
  • If you can, look for a daily devotional booklet/book... scripture passages are always listed with a brief teaching and/or words to think about during your day (I read mine in the morning and before I turn out the light at night)
  • Begin searching, watching, listening, and reading stories about other believer's (their life's struggles and joys)... find a Christian channel for your radio in your car, on your phone, or at home... watch a Christian TV station (CBN, EWTN, TBN) trust Jesus, He will let you know what to watch (always check what you hear with the Word of God... I kept a piece of paper in my bible and wrote down the passage they were talking about)...
  • Check to see if the church or someone you know attends a Bible study Open your mind, let your heart be filled with His goodness, begin your new life in Christ with joy...
