Summer Time Journey

With a joyous leap I begin my summer's journey with the Word of God, the Holy Spirit's leading, many prayer warriors.... and you!

“The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,
will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you.”

If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat!

If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat

Could I live each moment in a conscious awareness of God's presence? How would I stay focused on Christ instead of the world's clutter? * Whisper "Jesus" as I glance at each person near me, then I would see the person Christ sees * At meal time, I can leave an extra chair at the table ro remind me of His promise, "Lo, I am with you always.." * While reading a book, text, email, or watching a show I can remember Jesus is with me. He smiles with me at the fun, rejoices with me in the successes, and weeps with me in the tragedies. * When problem-solving, I can make it my habit to take it to Him. This is what Peter did when he tried to walk on water, so I will include Him in all my decisions. * Waking up or before I turn out the light, with praise and greetings I will seek His presence. "The real significance of this way of life is that it opens wide the spiritual reality and power like a radio antenna suddently tuned in to the right frequency!" Take a journey with "The Insanity of God"

The Insanity of God: A True Story of Faith Resurrected

The property owners responded, "Do you want my house? Do you want my farm? Well, if you do, then you need to talk to Jesus because I gave this property to Him." The security police didn't know what to do... "....When we take your property, you and your family will have nowhere to live!" The house-church believers will declare, "Then we will be free to trust God for shelter as well as for our daily bread." "If you keep this up, we will beat you!" "Then we will be free to trust Jesus for healing," "And then we will put you in prison!" "Then we will be free to preach the good news of Jesus to the captives, to set them free. We will be free to plant churches in prison." "If you try to do that, we will kill you!" the frustrated authorities will vow. And, with utter consistency, the house-church believers will reply, "Then we will be free to go to heaven and be with Jesus forever." What would your answers be? Take this journey with Nik Ripken http://www.nikripken.com/book/

Baptism in the Fullness of the Holy Spirit

With our 2014 Easter promises, I have been on a quest to meet more fully the grace, fruits, gifts, and joy of the Holy Spirit. I am so grateful that Pope Francis has the same passion... So as we search for our Lord's guidance and blessings during our walk in this year of faith, begin knowing the beauty of being Spirit filled! While not a theological statement the U.S. Bishops Ad Hoc Committee defines baptism in this way: As experienced in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal baptism in the Holy Spirit makes Jesus Christ known and loved as Lord and Savior, establishes or reestablishes an immediacy of relationship with all those persons on the Trinity, and through inner transformation affects the whole of the Christian’s life. There is new life and a new conscious awareness of God’s power and presence. It is a grace experience which touches every dimension of the Church’s life: worship, preaching, teaching, ministry, evangelism, prayer and spirituality, service and community. Because of this, it is our conviction that baptism in the Holy Spirit, understood as the reawakening in Christian experience of the presence and action of the Holy Spirit given in Christian initiation, and manifested in a broad range of charisms, including those closely associated with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, is part of the normal Christian life.

Walk for Life: West Coast

Our Mission

Our Mission
To change the perceptions of a society that thinks abortion is an answer. Abortion does violence to women and to their children, both physically and emotionally. We deserve better than abortion.

What all life is Worth......

March for Life in Washington, DC

Save a Life for Lent

"Respect for the dignity of the human person demands a commitment to human rights across a broad spectrum…Yet abortion and euthanasia have become preeminent threats to human dignity because they directly attack life itself, the most fundamental human good and the condition for all others. They are committed against those who are weakest and most defenseless, those who are genuinely 'the poorest of the poor'"

(US Bishops, Living the Gospel of Life, 1998)

This Lenten season we have a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of the unborn and in our community. This year instead of losing the lattes let’s stretch ourselves and make a real difference by truly living out our Catholic Faith.
Presently there is a need for a Church or a Parish to take on Tuesdays in the 40 Days for Life campaign here in Vancouver; some of us here at Sacred Heart tri parish community are trying to make this happen – and we need your help!

National Day of Prayer

The theme for this year's National Day of Prayer on May is Prayer ... America's Hope! It's based on Psalm 33:22, which says, "May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in You."
This is an extremely critical time in America's history. From economic pressures, to the ongoing threat of terrorism, to the unraveling of our culture's moral fabric, many people are dealing with a deep sense of uncertainty and apprehension.
However, we can be confident that when we come to God in humble prayer, He hears us and stands ready to respond to our cries for help. Our forefathers sought the Almighty for guidance and safekeeping; and we, too, can depend on His divine intervention if we will turn to Him in repentance and prayer. That will be our purpose as we gather with other people of faith across the nation on May 7th.
There are many ways you can get involved:• Join our LIVE online prayer room every Thursday at Noon CST• Find local events• Connect with volunteers in your area• Request free devotionals• Download prayer resources• Join the Online Prayer Rally• Sign-up for weekly prayer tips via email• Support Regan Smith, driver of the NDP and Furniture Row race car at NASCAR's Talladega event on April 26th• View GOD TV's LIVE webcast and television coverage of the National Observance from Washington D.C. from 9-noon EST on May 7th.
Visit
www.NationalDayofPrayer.org to learn more.
Again, I hope you will join with millions of other Americans on Thursday, May 7th, to observe the 58th annual National Day of Prayer.
Sincerely, Donald E. Wildmon,Founder and ChairmanAmerican Family Association

Stem Cell Research

Given this weeks news that President Obama has decided to sign off on a reversal of Bush's ban on Embryonic Stem Cell research, what does this mean for Americans who do not want their taxes supporting this type of research?

What does this mean for stem cell research? If you are like me, I have not been informed about all of the truths concerning Embryonic Stem Cell research. I knew just enough to know that there was enough of a haze around the reasons for using embryos for research that I truly felt the Holy Spirit guiding me into a decision that this wasn't an idea of the Lord's.

Out of all that I have learned, the biggest shock is that there is no news coverage informing us that Embryonic Stem Cell research has provided absolutely no results. So if Adult Stem Cells can do all the wonders for science....why is there continued support for the embryonic research? By the way did you know that Adult Stem Cells are easily taken from anyone's DNA?

Two sites worth investigating:

The Center for Bioethics Human Dignity:

Stem Cell Research Cures:

Continue to pray for the Lord's discernment about this controversy....
